History

Calvary Chapel of Longmont began as a church plant from Calvary Chapel of Boulder (now Broomfield) where Pastor Mike was serving as the assisting pastor to Richie Furay.  The Patricks worshiped at Calvary Chapel of Boulder for 11 years, serving in a number of ministries, and learning under the solid Bible teaching of Pastor Richie.  Mike also had the privilege there of leading home Bible studies and sharing some of the teaching responsibilities at Wednesday and Sunday worship services and special events.  He was ordained as a minister of the gospel in August, 1998.

Mike and Mary

Pastor Mike led a home Bible study in west Longmont for about two years prior to the establishment of CCL, but God’s gentle nudges eventually made it obvious to him and his wife Mary, that God was calling them to start a new work in Longmont.  The purpose of planting CCL was to reach the community of Longmont with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to offer a church home to believers in the Longmont area.

In early 2002, Michael and Mary began driving and walking through town praying for God’s leading and direction, and searching for places to hold services. They eventually secured some conference rooms at what is now the Radisson Hotel on Industrial Circle and the first Sunday morning worship service was held there on April 14, 2002.  The church moved to its present location on Sunset Place in June 2005.
